- Wind farms
Texas is home to a few of the largest windfarms in the world. Roscoe Wind Farm, which is located outside of Abilene, is the third largest in the world; Horse Hollow, which is located in Taylor and Nolan counties, is the fourth largest in the world; Capricorn Ridge Wind Farm, located in Sterling and Coke counties, is the fifth largest in the world; Sweetwater Wind Farm, located in Nolan County as well, is the ninth largest; and Buffalo Gap in Abilene rounds out the top-ten list of the largest wind farm in the world. The turbine farms enable Texas to produce more clean power than most states while still maintain the rugged Texas landscape to do so.
- Stadium connectivity
The demand for connectivity among sports fans is undeniable, and Texas stadiums are making changes to the fan experience to increase revenue and connectivity. In 2013, AT&T Stadium showed off its Wi-Fi big guns that connected nearly 20,000 to 32,000 fans to the stadium’s Wi-Fi at the Dallas-Oakland game on Thanksgiving. The Wi-Fi connection provides fans with immediate access to specs, game highlights, and reviews. Users can upload videos and pictures directly from the stadium, allowing friends and families across the globe to experience the thrill of the game in real-time.
SxSW (South by Southwest) has something for everyone. SxSW is a series of film, interactive, gaming, health and medtech, and music festivals in March. Exhibitors showed up with 3D printers, Dremel® tools, conductive pens, laser systems, technologically advanced prosthetics, unified communications, managed services, and an array of state-of-the-art technologies.
